dressing room diaries: sista sista edition

My mom and my sister come to visit me almost once a month, and everytime they come, we can't help but to do some thrifting. They were here this weekend, and we took a trip to the good ole' Goodwill!

First off, since I didn't get an actual picture of what I was wearing Saturday, here is my selfie at the Goodwill.

LC Lauren Conrad Blouse: Kohl's, gift carded
Shorts: TJ Maxx $16
Necklace: Forever 21 $4
Sandals:  birthday gift from a co-worker
Total Outfit Cost: $20

And here are our findings of the day...

H&M LBD: I LOVED the way this looked with my hair and necklace, but the dress was super short in the middle front. I thought it would probably look great over some white skinny jeans and some wedges, but I didn't have any plans to wear an outfit like that any time soon, so I resisted and at the GW it stayed.

Gap dress: I have to give props to my sister for this find! You can't really see it in the picture, but the stripes are actually navy blue with tiny white polka dots. My GW is so weird and they up the price to certain items, and I guess the person pricing that day thought that Gap things should be more expensive? Who knows. All dress are $6, but this one was marked to $8. I still got it because I see myself wearing it a ton. :)

Old Navy floral dress: I actually saw someone selling this dress and it caught my eye, but it is way prettier in person! Sadly I don't get to wear summery clothes too often (well only on the weekends) so I'm trying to cut back and I didn't get this dress.

Vintage dress:  I grabbed this as a wild card, and yeah it just didn't work.

J.Crew chino shorts: These were the perfect fit and such a fun color! They definitely came home with me.

Army green vest: So sista doesn't normally enjoy thrifting with us, but she was definitely enjoying herself Saturday! How cute is this vest on her? She took it home with her fo sho.

Blue blouse: She eyed this shirt the second we walked in the door. It was cuter on the hanger though. See that redish orange dress in the background? She forgot to get a picture in it, but she took that pretty home with her.

Target Dress: LOVED this on her! It was a keeper!

  1. Super fun. I love those dresses! :) I recently snagged a green utility vest on the clearance at TJMaxx for $15! :) And of course have found tons of random things at goodwill too. :) So fun to thrift with family! :) XO-Alexandra

  4. You found some great things!! That striped dress is perfect!

Can I just admire your striped/floral tank for a moment?? OH MY GOSH I LOVE IT! Was it a recent find? There are several Kohl's items I've seen on bloggers lately that have caught my eye. I may need that tank ASAP if it's still available.

  6. I loved those dresses you wore. I know what you mean about Goodwill's pricing, that's why I was so happy when I found a blue striped vintage Neiman-Marcus dress for around $5 at my favorite Goodwill in Culver City. Unfortunately I put it in my closet with all of my other clothes and momentarily lost it so I haven't had a chance to wear it yet. But I still think it was a great find.

  7. I have the Gap stripey/dotty dress!!!! I would link to it, but long sob-story about all the photos hosted by Flickr on my blog being down (as soon as I get that resolved, I will.) Nothing is quite as exciting as seeing an item you own on another blog! I think it's because it gives you the feeling that you could literally re-create an outfit they're wearing. I can assure you, it's such a great weekend day dress! I love seeing your thrifted finds.

Also, Happy Belated Birthday sweet girl!!! Hope it was lovely.

    ♥ perfectly Priya

  9. Is it weird that I really enjoy seeing what treasures other people find at Goodwill? Okay, and sometimes it makes me jealous. Like that Gap dress :) Might be because I'm preggo right now and most of my Goodwill trips have been a failure of things that don't fit, but I would looove to own. Love your finds!
