dressing room diaries: sista sista edition
My mom and my sister come to visit me almost once a month, and everytime they come, we can't help but to do some thrifting. They were here this weekend, and we took a trip to the good ole' Goodwill!
First off, since I didn't get an actual picture of what I was wearing Saturday, here is my selfie at the Goodwill.
LC Lauren Conrad Blouse: Kohl's, gift carded
Shorts: TJ Maxx $16
Necklace: Forever 21 $4
Sandals: birthday gift from a co-worker
Total Outfit Cost: $20
And here are our findings of the day...
H&M LBD: I LOVED the way this looked with my hair and necklace, but the dress was super short in the middle front. I thought it would probably look great over some white skinny jeans and some wedges, but I didn't have any plans to wear an outfit like that any time soon, so I resisted and at the GW it stayed.
Gap dress: I have to give props to my sister for this find! You can't really see it in the picture, but the stripes are actually navy blue with tiny white polka dots. My GW is so weird and they up the price to certain items, and I guess the person pricing that day thought that Gap things should be more expensive? Who knows. All dress are $6, but this one was marked to $8. I still got it because I see myself wearing it a ton. :)
Old Navy floral dress: I actually saw someone selling this dress and it caught my eye, but it is way prettier in person! Sadly I don't get to wear summery clothes too often (well only on the weekends) so I'm trying to cut back and I didn't get this dress.

I'm so fancy
Cynthia Rowley Blouse: Goodwill $4
Pants: Old Navy $26
Heels: Payless (clearance) $10
Necklace: Ebay $4
Total Outfit Cost: $44
...you already know. Something about a pair of fabulous heels, a cute outfit, and sunglasses can make a girl feel fancy, right? Actually I didn't feel all that fancy in this outfit. I just started singing that song while taking these pictures, so I decided then that it should be the title of this blog post.

By the way, my 23rd birthday is in just a few hours! Presents are always welcome... I wear a shoe size 8 ;)

all the colors
Pants: Old Navy $26 [similar]
Xhilaration Wedges: $12 [similar]
Belt: Plato's Closet $2
Total Outfit Cost: $52
Could this shirt be any more bright and colorful? I think not. This outfit is so loud it's almost obnoxious. I have no regrets. For me, it brings the summer to the office, even when the office is an iceberg.
So after telling y'all yesterday that it's been in a year since my wedding day I realized that I kinda sorta never finished posting my wedding pictures on the blog! I'm an awful blogger, I know! So, my question is.. do y'all still want me to post the rest?

one year
Yesterday was Larry and I's 1 year wedding anniversary! I can't believe just how fast the past year has flown by. I can still remember every detail of our wedding day and I hope I can keep that memory forever because it's favorite so far.
We didn't want to do anything too extravagant for our anniversary because we're going to Disney World in September and that's kinda serving as our anniversary gift/trip. We started off the day at church Sunday morning. Then, like usual, we went have lunch with family. After lunch we went to the movies just Larry and I. We went see that movie with Cameron Diaz and Jason Segal (I'm not going to put the title of the movie because I don't want the wrong kind of traffic coming to my blog lol). But btw, it was hilarious. Larry was trying to get me to go see Planet of the Apes, but I was in the mood for something funny! Then we went eat dinner at the L'auberge Casino buffet where we stuffed our faces with snow crabs. Yummm. We ended the day with some wine and cake!
I can't wait for many many many more years with my husband, and I can't wait to see what God has in store for us!

maxi times two
I've been on a dress kick lately, and this maxi may be my favorite. I have to stop myself from wearing it all the time. Ya know, that seems to be a trend in my favorite pieces, I love them so much that I wear them every week. This time I didn't even realize it. I wore it with the chambray tied over last week and then yesterday I got dressed and put it on again without even realizing that I just wore it recently. I have to give my sister props for finding it. She bought it first and not a month later I had to have it too!
Ok, enough about the dress. I figured out something great this week. It's amazing if your skin gets oily during the day like mine. Translucent powder! When I add my normal colored powder in the middle or end of the day to my already face full of makeup, it makes my makeup look gross and cakey. I don't know about you but I definitely don't want to look like I have layers and layers of makeup on. Translucent powder masks the oily-ness and doesn't make it look like you added any makeup. It's genius. You should try it. :) And for the record, I have the NYC powder from Walmart for like 99 cents and it works great!
