Wear to Work Wednesday: Michael Kors Dress

Michael Kors Dress: Goodwill $4.99
Tights: Old
Shoes: Rack Room Shoes $35.00
Total Outfit Cost: $39.99

I found this Michael Kors dress months ago, and I finally got to wear it! Any other Goodwill would've saw the MK tag and marked the price up, but the one I happened to find it at  (College Drive in Baton Rouge) doesn't mark up clothes even if they are brand new! I wish all Goodwills were like that!

Not So Country

Miley Cyrus Shirt: Walmart $7.00
Skirt: Forever 21 $7.80
Leggings: Walmart $5.00
Boot Socks: Payless Shoe Source $4.00
Scarf: Ross $5.00
Boots: Don't remember the website $40.00
Total Outfit Cost: $68.80

This is what I wore on the day Larry and I got engaged! (minus the scarf) It was way too hot that day to wear the scarf! I think it's hilarious that my outfit totally clashes with the scenery. I may be from south Louisiana and hunt with my man, but I am not at all country, or dress like it!

Our reenactment ;)

I Said YES

November 20, 2012, on our 3 year anniversary, my best friend and the most amazing guy I've ever met asked me to marry him... I SAID YES!  We were in Texas at his family's deer lease for the week, and he took me on a lunch date for our anniversary. We went to this little old town, Fredericksburg, about 30 minutes from the camp.  On the way to the restaurant, we passed this park with a huge Christmas tree.  I told him we should go take a picture there on our way out... little did I know, that was already his plan.  So, we had lunch, did a little shopping, and some wine tasting.  He told me we were shopping because he hadn't gotten me anything for our anniversary. Then we went to the park to take a picture. I took his picture in front of the tree, and then he said, "well mayyyybe I did get you a little something for our anniversary." He got down on his knee and asked me to marry me!! :D His mom, sister, aunt, and granny then came to the park to congratulate us. I'm still in shock, and I'm the happiest girl in the world. And the ring... WOW. He did amazing!

Larry's sister snapped these photos of us at the camp afterward. :)

We haven't set a date yet, but we plan on getting married next summer! I can't wait to show ya'll how I'm planning my wedding on a small budget and all the projects I have in store!

DIY Toilet Paper Roll Art

Hey guys! Today I wanted to show you how you can save some money on wall decor by utilizing something everyone uses... unless you're one of those people on TLC's Extreme Cheapskates that doesn't....

Ok the 1st thing you'll need for this DIY  is something we ALL throw away way too much of...
Toilet paper rolls!
You will also need scissors & hot glue.

Step 1: Smoosh the rolls like so..

Step 2: Cut them into thirds.

Step 3: Create a design & hot glue it
Step 4: Spray paint it! (optional) I did mine gold.

That's it! SO easy & FREE!
And here's the one that my roommate, Adele, made a while back. It's way better than mine! We get compliments on it all the time, and no one can ever tell that it's made from toilet paper rolls!

**Today I was getting dressed and realized that this skirt is in fact not from Pac Sun like I've been saying it is. My Pac Sun skirt had gotten lost a while back, and I replaced it with this skirt from Ross. And this whole time I've been blogging, thinking it was the original skirt. Whoops!

Limited Jeans: Goodwill $4.99
Scarf: Gifted

Yall, her style is awesome.  The Day Book blog is probably one of my favorite style blogs to look at.  She puts things together that you would have never thought.  She makes me think about my closet a whole different way.  Like, I would have never thought to put a belt around a white button up.  She pretty much belts all her outfits.  I love it.  Also, I'm wearing black and brown today,  something I don't usually do unless it's 'camel' brown, but i am, and I'm loving it!  What do yall think?

School Pride

I don't why, but today I just felt like being in my big comfy Southeastern Lions sweatshirt.  It's too big, but it still looks acceptable to me... well just on a time to time basis.  I wouldn't wear this everyday like most college students. Well if your wondering why I'd even waste my time on posting a picture of me in a huge sweatshirt (and a ponytail, ew) it's because it came from.... GOODWILL! Hahah, like most of my clothes.  Thrift stores are a good place to find University/College wear without the high price tag.  The sweatshirt I'm wearing is Jansport brand so it probably would've cost around $50.00 originally, and my mom got it for me for only $4.99. :)

Blazer: Goodwill $4.99
Tights: Old
Booties: Rack Room Shoes $40.00
Necklace: Ebay $7.60
Total Outfit Cost: $57.58

Okayyyy, so I didn't actually have work today.  We have our fall dance concert this week so tonight we have our dress rehearsal and I took off of work.  But I did wear this for a group presentation today... yeahhh that didn't go so well. I worked really hard on our powerpoint, and then even though I made it on a school computer, the fonts/sizing/spacing was all messed up when we went to present.  Then, since I was all worked up about that, I didn't present well.  :( Let's hope for an A anyway.

This outfit picture is from a few weeks ago, but for some reason it never got posted!  I have so many different pairs of colored pants so I'm always trying to figure out what colors other than neutrals go together. I think the navy looked great with the purple.  What do you think? What other colors could I wear with purple pants?

Ohhhhh! I've been forgetting to tell yall but Goodwillista is now on Facebook! I have a link to the left or just click here: Goodwillista Don't forget to click the like button ;)

Black & Tan

Rue 21 Dress: Goodwill $4.99
Cardigan: Super Old
Tights: Old
Booties: Rack Room Shoes $35 (BOGO)
Belt: Came on a dress
Bracelets: Forever 21 $1.80
Total Outfit Cost: $41.79

Usually I wear an outfit to class, and then change into a different outfit for work.  But that's too much work! Picking out two outfits a day, and double the laundry.  So, I've been trying to put together outfits that I could wear to both.  I wore this outfit to class, but with some short black leather boots.  It was way less trouble just to change my shoes for work!

Scarf: Goodwill $1.99
Headband: Goodwill $0.59
Tights: Target Old

I'm really not sure why anyone would pay $40+ for a Halloween costume when you can put one together from things you already have and thrifted things!
