july closet additions

Old Navy Swing Dresses: 50% off of $27 = $13.50 each
I'm normally not one to buy the same item in different colors, but this dress is an awesome exception. The material is SO soft and comfy. Plus, these dresses will work while pregnant and after! A win-win in my book.

Mossimo Striped Blazer: Poshmark $10 + $4 shipping = $14
I've been looking to add some comfy ponte knit blazers to my wardrobe. I think that having some fun outer layers to pair with simple maternity tee's will be good for making my closet go further during my pregnancy. It's so hot now though that I may not get any wear out of this for a few months.

I will admit, I don't love these. I bought them to make due for now until I find a really good pair of black maternity pants for work. I would much rather full panel pants, but I'm learning that it's hard to find exactly what you want when it comes to maternity wear. #thestruggleisreal

{not pictured} "&" Tee: Old Navy on sale for $5
I debated even including this in my budget because right now it's just being worn as a sleep shirt. I bought it big so that it'll fit later on though.

Total spent $71 - clothes sold $12 = $59

Total Spent this year: $309.50

orange dress + chambray

eyelet dress
Old Navy Dress: Goodwill $6
Chambray: Forever 21 $20
Sandals: Target (bogo $15)
Total Outfit Cost: $41

This outfit has been sitting in my drafts for a couple weeks now- oops! I wore this at 10 weeks pregnant, and I remember feeling so me and so confident in this outfit. Though I didn't have a bump at all yet, I was bloated and my pants were getting tight. This outfit was a comfy alternative to my too tight pants and made me feel good again.

17 weeks

17 WEEKS

How far along? 17  weeks +  2 days

Baby is the size of a: Navel Orange (and I'm coincidentally wearing orange this week! haha!)

Total weight gain: Not sure!

Maternity clothes? Mainly just bottoms, but I did wear a maternity tank that my mom got me and it accentuated the bump nicely might I say. :)

Sleep: Not too bad!

Best moment this week: Shopping for baby girl! I went to a kids consignment store and found her 6 little outfits for only $13! I went back there today and got some headbands for 50 and 75 cents each. Good thing I'm a bargain shopper or we'd be going broke over this girl!

Miss Anything? Nope.

Cravings: None still!

Symptoms: Same ole same ole. Not much new happening with my body this week.

Looking forward to: Planning my baby showers!

Ps. Remember my last week's "looking forward to" was finding out baby's gender?! Now you all see that I was saying that to throw y'all off hahah.

July 28, 2015

It's a...

Long story, short- we planned on having a small gender reveal party with family after my next ultrasound around 18-20 weeks. I got impatient and got the idea to go and get an ultrasound done to find out baby's gender. I scheduled it for Thursday, July 23rd. We planned on surprising our family at my birthday dinner on Saturday.

Monday, July 20th, Larry and I's 2 year wedding anniversary, rolls around and we were contemplating on what to do. So, I got the idea to go in for our ultrasound early! Luckily they were able to take us in!

We found out that mama and daddy's intuition was right- we are expecting a baby GIRL!

Not long after finding out that I was pregnant, I found that when I thought about baby, I thought she/her. I just had a strong feeling from the start that it was a girl!

I was happy with having a boy or girl, but I think way deep down inside I really wanted a girl first. My mom always picked on me and told me I'd have 3 boys, so I think I always had that fear that I'd never have my little girl to have a special mother/daughter relationship like we have. So I'm relieved to know that I will have her after all!

Ps. We were even too impatient to wait and tell our family on Saturday and we told them all on Thursday. :)

16 weeks / 4 months

16 WEEKS 2

Ok so this week's picture is a total fail! You can barely see my number or my bump!

How far along? 16  weeks +  2 days

Baby is the size of a: Avocado

Total weight gain: Idk! Apparently my scale is wrong compared to the scale at the doctor's office. They said that I've gained 5 lbs since my last appointment 4 weeks ago. So am I supposed to start over from that number and go up from there?

Maternity clothes? Bottoms only.

Sleep: Getting better! My back is still hurting in my sleep but not as bad and as often.

Best moment this week: Sooo I think I may have felt my first flutters on Monday night! I was laying on the couch and Larry was sitting next to me as we watched The Bachelorette and I'm pretty sure that's what it was. It happened again at around the same time on Tuesday night too.

Miss Anything? Can't think of anything this week!

Cravings: None.

Symptoms: Lots of indigestion at night. Sometimes it's so bad it makes me nauseated. So goodbye morning sickness, hello night sickness? Also this week I've noticed that all of a sudden I am widening. My hips are huge! Even my athletic shorts/pants are too tight! Sooo weird. Not something I was expecting to happen! My mom says that this is a sign that baby is a girl. My acne has been bad this week too. My co-worker says that "girls steal your beauty" so we have yet another sign of a baby girl!

Looking forward to: Finding out the gender of this baby!

And since this week's picture sucks, here is a better representation of the bump. I woke up Friday morning and suddenly I finally look pregnant!

15 weeks

15 WEEKS

How far along? 15  weeks +  2 days

Baby is the size of a: Pear

Total weight gain: -2 lbs from pre-pregnancy weight

Maternity clothes? Only bottoms.

Sleep: Two thumbs down. I've always been a side sleeper. Always. But now that I HAVE to sleep on my side, all I want to do is sleep on my back! I read that you shouldn't sleep on your back in the 2nd and 3rd trimester, and ever since then I wake up multiple times per night ON MY BACK and I stress out, but my side hasn't been comfortable lately. My snoogle pillow wasn't helping quite at first, but I think I'm starting to get the hang of it now.

Best moment this week: Thrifting with mom on Monday. Baby even scored a few goodies- some books and little toys! I can't wait to be able to buy clothes!

Miss Anything? Not having to belch constantly after I eat.

Cravings: None.

Symptoms: OhmyGod. I have been hungry every 2-3 hours. And not like eat a snack hungry. HUNGRY like I need to eat 5 full meals a day hungry. I guess this is when I start packing on the pounds!

Looking forward to: My appointment next week! I can't wait to hear baby's heart beat again! Music to my ears<3

little blue dress

blue t shirt dress
Dress: Old Navy (on sale) $15
Heels: Just Fab $40
Necklace: c/o Happiness Boutique
Total Outfit Cost: $55
If you didn't know I was pregnant, you would totally just think that I put on a little weight... particularly in the tummy area. And you'd probably think that I need to pose different because this pose is totally unflattering! Lol! Luckily I am pregnant and you all know that that little pooch is carrying a peach sized baby!
happiness boutique necklace

I really love this necklace that Happiness Boutique sent me! I've really been lacking in the necklace department lately, and this gorgeous necklace was the perfect addition to my closet. I still love a good statement necklace, but I have been leaning more towards long pendant necklaces. You'll be seeing more of this beauty for sure!

13 WEEKS

HELLLLOOO SECOND TRIMESTER!

How far along? 13  weeks +  2 days

Baby is the size of a: Kiwi

Total weight gain: Still down 2-3 lbs from my pre-pregnancy weight

Maternity clothes? Only a few pairs of pants/jeans.

Sleep: Ehh. Been waking up multiple times a night with a back ache. Seriously ordering the Snoogle pillow tonight.

Best moment this week: Spent the weekend with my sister and had such a good time with her. :)

Miss Anything? A good nights rest.

Cravings: Not really any cravings, but lately if I see something yummy or think of something yummy  I get this sudden "oh my God I need to eat that now."

Symptoms: It seems like my nausea has subsided! Not sure if it's from the medicine my doc gave me or due to starting the 2nd trimester (or both!) but it makes me happy. Speaking of happy... dang I have been some moody this week! Sorry Larry! Indigestion is going strong still. I've only felt bad after a few meals I've ate (rather than all). Oh and my belly and boobies have been itching- so lets hope this belly gets to growing soon!

navy floral blouse + gray pants
Blouse: Marshall's $20
Pants: Marshall's $25
Sandals: Rack Room Shoes $25
Total Outfit Cost: $70

Pretty simple outfit today and not too much to say about it! I love this blouse, but I don't feel like there's too much else I could do with it. I wore it with white jeans and wedges on Easter Sunday. Any other ideas for this blouse though?

Nicole said it a few weeks ago that she's been dealing with a closet crisis, and I have to say that I've been going through the same thing the past few months. I don't really feel inspired by anything I've bought lately and nothing in my closet really feels "me" anymore. It doesn't help now that I'm pregnant either because now I have the challenge of finding things that are "me" and will fit this growing body. And another crisis I've been facing? A hair crisis!! I miss my long hair! I just don't know what to do with this short hair anymore. :(

Ok, ok. Enough with the complaining Danielle! Hope you're all having a great week!
