DIY Spruce Up Your Shelf

When I moved into my apartment, I needed something small and cheap to hold my TV. I got this plain white shelf at Walmart for $15.00. It was kinda boring I have to admit. So I found a pin on pinterest showing you how to apply wallpaper to a shelf to spruce it up. My roommate and I have the same shelves, so we were brainstorming on what we could use instead of wallpaper. We looked at Hobby Lobby, and were going to use scrapbook paper, but we just couldn't find any that we loved (plus we were very indecisive that day). We also thought about fabric, but again feeling indecisive.  Adele came across some shelf adhesive liner at TJ Maxx (our favoriteeee store to shop at together) for $5.99 and that's what we ended up using!

I love love love the little bit of color it adds to that side of my room!

No Norts

While most girls like to wear norts (also known as Nike shorts) to class such as these:

I prefer to dress up a little more because I don't like all my clothes in my closet to go to waste, and because I  enjoy dressing up! I love clothes! Why not wear them? The only time you'll see me in Norts is when I'm working out, lounging around the house, or maybe if I'm going to be in a car for a long time (and not taking pictures ;)

Fedora: Maurice's $12.00
Shirt: TJ Maxx $3.00 (Even cheaper than Goodwill!)
Guess Shorts: Goodwill $3.49
Sandals: Payless $12.00 (I think)
Necklace: Goodwill $0.99
Total Outfit Cost: $31.48

Here's another outfit I wore to class, I didn't think it was significfant enough to have its own blog post, plus the quality is bad.
J. Crew Top: Goodwill $3.49
Khaki Shorts: Salvation Army $2.00

So, what do YOU wear to class?

Ps. I'm in the process of changing up the look of my blog.

So ya had a bad day?

I would consider today a kinda bad day. I'm not going to give you my sob story, but instead tell you what I did to cheer myself up. If you guessed go to the Goodwill then ding ding ding you are the winner! Okay so you don't win anything but you do get to see my buggy full of stuff.

Note: I did not buy all of this. This is my buggy before I made it to the dressing room.
So does anyone else go for a thrifting high when you're feeling down?

World's Longest Yard Sale! & little thrift store

So, if you've been reading my blog, you know that I got a chance to shop the world's longest yard sale while on my way home from vacation! Though I only got 2 finds, those 2 finds were amazing and totally worth it! Here they are!
BEAUTIFUL vintage pearl necklace (shown in previous post) only $1

Another awesome necklace for only $1!

some of our yard sale stops

Okayyy, so maybe I found 3 things, this homemade ice-cream was cherry coconut perfection.

This is the thrift store that we went to. We also made it to the local Goodwill in Chattanooga. We were really confused because we found absolutely nothing, but everyone in line seemed to have a handful of stuff. It's usually the other way around haha.

I found this plastic wooden frame for only $0.99. I plan to paint some chalkboard paint onto to it to make it a chalkboard for my living room. I'll have another post about that when I eventually do it!

I also got this necklace for $0.49!!
Here's how I wore it to work yesterday:

Goodwillista Family/Vacation

Last week, my family and I took a vacation to Chattanooga,TN. It was much different than any trip we've ever taken, and we all enjoyed it.  We visited Rock City, Ruby Falls, the Lost Sea and rode the Incline Railroad.  We also went zip streaming and whitewater rafting! And something I was SO excited to do was get to stop at some of the yard sales participating in the world's longest yard sale!!
We didn't plan it this way, but this day we all ended up in Goodwill finds!
Alyssa's Romper: Goodwill $4.99
Nadine's Romper: Goodwill $4.99
Kevin's American Eagle Polo Shirt: Goodwill $3.49
My Romper: Goodwill $4.99

Isn't the view of Lookout Mountain behind us amazing?

The Incline Railway. "It goes STRAIGHT UP and STRAIGHT DOWN," so said my mom before we went on vacation... it doesn't.

The view at the top of the Incline Railway. We thought it looked like heaven. :)

Pictures from the world's longest yard sale coming soon!
