Pinspired Style: Unexpected

(this picture sucks... sorry :/)
Jean Jacket: Old Navy Gifted
Top: TJ Maxx $7.00
Skirt: Ross $5.99
Boot Socks: Payless $3
Boots: Borrowed from Sista
Pearls: Goodwill $3.99
Total Outfit Cost: $19.98

This outfit here has funny little story behind it...
I wore this outfit when we went to New Orleans for me to try on wedding gowns. This was actually after I had already ordered my Chinese dress. So... I had crowd of like 10 people with me. Just so they all could get to experience the trying on gowns with me. Well I tried on some dresses, but none of them compared to the one I had already ordered. Then we showed the woman that was helping me that dress (not telling her I had ordered it already), and she found it in the store! So I had the whole "I said yes to the dress" moment with everyone and the woman says that she's going to go get the seamstress to get fitted. Ya'll I couldn't take it. I couldn't lie. My family wanted me to tell her that we were going to leave and get lunch and come back. I just couldn't do it! So I told her "Actuallyyy... I ordered this dress already for $300...." You should have seen her face. OMG. "Ugh from China?! Good luck with that." Yeahhhhh she was NOT happy with me. And my family was embarassed... oppsie! But I didn't lie!

When I saw this outfit on Clare's blog, I immediately loved it! I knew I had all of these pieces , but I never would've thought to put them together. I thought this outfit was an unexpected look, and you definitely wouldn't see anyone else on the street wearing something even similar to it.

i like my big butt and i cannot lie

One of my lovely blogger friends, Nicole at Writes like a Girl, is doing a series this week in honor of National Eating Disorder Awareness Week and Body Revolution 2013. She asked myself and some other bloggers to participate and write a letter to our favorite/least favorite body part. She says "As bloggers, we write about our trials with our clothes, but we rarely talk about the bodies that we can't just leave on our closet floors when they don't look quite right in the mirror. "

You can read my letter here.

Wear to Work Wednesday: Polka Dots & Teal

Blouse: Goodwill $3.49
Skirt: Forever 21 $4.49
Tights: Target (clearance) $3
Heels: Shoe Station (clearance) $10
Total Outfit Cost $20.98

I tried to wear this skirt last week, but styling it gave me a lot of trouble. Maybe that was a good thing though, because I absolutely love what I FINALLY came up with. Larry loved it too. But it was kinda one of those "I love it on you, but I don't want anyone else to love it on you." Haha. Anyone else's guy like that?
I didn't end up wear those heels pictured. (btdubs Shoe Station had a HUGE wall of clearance shoes and they were all $10!! Except the boots, those were $15. I did indeed get a pair of boots too). I stopped at the post office on my way to work to pick up a package from Charlotte Russe that FedEx for some reason thought it could get by without dropping off whatevs, but I finally got my cap toe pumps that I ordered! And they just so happen to go with my outfit perfectly.

And for only $12.50 on clearance (plus free shipping), they are absolutely beauty-full... even if they do hurt my feet...
Ps. The tights are way brighter in person!

thrifting with me!

Last Friday my mom and I stopped at one of our favorite Goodwills on College Drive in Baton Rouge! Here are some of my finds:

Here is headless me and what I wore. Note: I rarely dress like this but this was the day after I spend the night at the hospital with Larry. I still think it's cute outfit though.
Arizona button up: Goodwill $3.49
Limited Jeans: Goodwill $4.99
Sista's Vans: Borrowed
Total Outfit Cost: $8.48

Lookie here, I found a Shabby Apple dress! Too bad it was an extra small and that long center of the dress with the pleated bottom was just unflattering.

Umm JUICY COUTURE Jeans. Too bad they were a tab too tight in my butt and thighs. #foreverbigbuttprobz. They also weren't long enough to be wore with wedges for the spring.

And the top is Lauren Conrad and I got it!

This blazer was pretty but I couldn't think of any bottoms I have that would go with it.
Target dress. Didn't get it and kinda regretting it!

Jessica Mcclintock dress, came with a blazer too all for $12.99. I was thinking the dress would be pretty to change into at the end of my wedding reception, but it just needed too much work. It had a few stains, the metal from the corset was poking me, it would need to be hemmed, and my mom said it made my boobs look (even) smaller. Sigh.

Loveee this blazer. I did indeed get it.
(please excuse my hair)

I also got some black skinny pants from Forever 21 but I forgot to get a picture.

What do you think of my finds?

Almost Totally Goodwill

Jacket: Goodwill $3.49
Shirt: Goodwill $3.49
Limited Jeans: Goodwill $4.99
Charlotte Russe Flats: Goodwill $2.99
Scarf: Target Clearance $4.48
Total Outfit Cost: $19.44

So I actually meant to post this outfit last Friday, and I had a Pinspired Style outfit to post on Thursday. Well my fiance had sinus surgery Thursday morning and I had forgot to actually make the Pinspired Style post so that I could just press publish from my iPad. Whoops. Then, we ended up staying the night in the hospital. My poor love was in bad pain. :/  He's recovering well and feeling much better than then though.

If you follow me on Instagram, you saw that Momma Goodwillista and I went to Hobby Lobby and picked up some flowers to play around with for the wedding reception decor. Yes, we are using fake flowers for decoration, but real ones for the bouquets. It was cheaper that way, and we will know exactly what the flowers look like. (50% off floral at Hob Lob when we went- SCORE!) So if you were wondering what my wedding colors are, here they are! Shades of coral/peach, ivory, lace, and burlap. :)

Ps. We played around with a few combinations yesterday, and we're not using all of these

Advice on boots needed

Okay people, since I am just plain cheap, I need your advice.

I had the boots in the top left corner for 2 years and the sole fell apart. I got them from rack room shoes for $40.
The ones on the bottom left I have now and soles are complete poop... Like there are literally holes in the heels of them. I got them this time last year but they didn't really get worn until this past fall. I've worn them almost everyday all fall/winter because they go with everythinggggg.

So question is... Do I buy these Steve Madden boots that will cost me $100??

Today I don't have much to say... I had a schoolwork overload Monday and Tuesday, but I didn't let stress get the best of me! I got an 89 (1 point away from an A!) on my first exam of the semester and a 95 on my presentation! I'm very proud of myself, because I didn't worry, I just trusted in God. I have always been a worry wart, but I am learning to trust Him.

Maxi Skirt: WH|BM Outlet $10
Necklace: Ebay $8.99

Every time I go home and have my mom or sister take my picture, Spencer always tries to be in my picture. So I thought I'd let him and Dutchess take over the blog today.

Meet the Puppies:
Spencer (Bichon Frise) on the left & Dutchess (Toy Poodle) on the right

Is this not the cutest picture ever? Spencer Bear (all dogs should have a middle name) loves to give kisses.

Poor dude, how does he even see? He needs to be groomed so bad, but he's still just so cute!

Dutchess says, "Sissy, my fro is not lookin good today"

My Valentine's Outfit & Engagement Pictures

Dress: TJ Maxx $19.99
Blazer: Goodwill $3.49
Nine West Heels: Goodwill $3.49
Necklace: Ebay $8.99
Total Outfit Cost: $35.96

I am in LOVE with this dress. I mean that's got to be obvious being that I paid $20 (see my $20 rule) for it!  Actually now that I think of it, I did buy it with Christmas money, so it was kinda free, right? So when I saw this dress, I saw myself wearing it on my honeymoon to a nice dinner... eeeek can't wait for that! Still don't know where we're going yet, but somewhere tropical of course :)

And here's a few of Larry and I's engagement photos! I'm SO happy with the way they turned out. I expected nothing less than our amazing photographer Tate Tullier. He is THE best. For realz.

I'll post a few more for ya'll another day! I didn't want to go TOO photo crazy on ya!
