I found this terrible long skirt at the Goodwill in Mobile, AL a couple of weeks ago. I loved the print of it so I decided that I would buy it and hem it. I LOVE the way it turned out!
Oh gosh, I wish I was better at sewing! There are so many things that can easily be transformed. You did such a great job with this skirt... It looks just like something you would see in the mall but for like 5 times the price!
Thanks for following my blog! It's always fun to check out another thrifter and see their finds.
I actually haven't sewed since I was in 10th grade (so like 6 years), and it's super easy to hem something! You just sew a straight line! You should try it! I agree, I love seeing others' thrifty finds, it makes me even more excited to shop :)
I love that skirt too. That is why it is so nice when you learn even just basic sewing. :) Saves you tons of money for sure. I do agree that you don't need to spend a fortune to look like a million. :) Great job!
Love the shorter hem! (wish I could sew!) I must admit, looking through your blog is making me think I'm paying too much for my VV Boutique finds... but it seems standard here that shirts are around $6, pants are around $9, sweaters around $9 and shoes and bags anywhere from $6-$18 for designer leather... Still way cheaper than regular retail but it's funny how your perspective changes once you start shopping second-hand!
That looks adorable! It's crazy how a few inches can change everything!
ReplyDeleteThanks! I am very happy with the results!
