12 weeks // 3 months

12 WEEKS
(Blurry picture this week- blame it on Larry)

How far along? 12  weeks + 2 days

Baby is the size of a: Plum or lime

Total weight gain: Down 2-3 lbs from my starting weight

Maternity clothes? Wore my new maternity shorts and some red maternity pants that my mom got me from the Goodwill last week.

Sleep: Going down hill. My back is starting to hurt in my sleep. Thinking about ordering the Snoogle pillow soon.

Best moment this week: Seeing baby on the ultrasound!

Miss Anything? My energy and the ability to actually get things done.

Cravings: None lately.

Symptoms: Oh my goodness, I have been good for nothin' this week up until today.  I've been feeling nauseated and super tired in the evenings.

Looking forward to: The second trimester!!

Tuesday I had my first appointment with my OB-GYN and it went great! I wasn't sure if I'd get an ultrasound since I had one at 8 weeks, but I did! Right when we started the ultrasound, baby started flailing his/her arms up and down. It was the coolest thing ever! Larry and I couldn't believe baby could move so much already. I read that even though I couldn't feel it, baby was beginning to move, but I guess I didn't expect him/her to move that much! I think he/she is going to be a dancer like mama!

The doctor said that everything looks great and baby is measuring right on track. He sees no chance of a high risk pregnancy, which is such a relief. I'm so excited to watch and feel baby grow. At the next ultrasound in 2 months we will be able to determine baby's gender! What do you think baby Wallace is??

  2. So exciting!!! It was incredible to me how much the baby was moving at our 20week ultrasonic be and I wasn't feels it anything yet. And yeah, get the snoogle! I actually got the mini and loved it. I thought the big one would take up too much bed space!

  4. hehe that's so fun!! :) I don't know if I would want to find out the sex of the baby or not. I like the idea of a surprise. But nurseries and showers are a lot easier when you know! :) XO -Alexandra

  7. I'm SO glad pregnancy is treating you well so far! Are you having any morning sickness? That's what I'm afraid of! So cool you got to see your little boy (and yes, I think you're having a boy. Placing my bet!)

  8. I'm glad the baby is on track. When you feel like crap, knowing that the baby is okay makes it much more bearable, right? Also, I get really terrible back pain. (It's worse now that she's REALLY growing.) However, I have gotten relief from a few things that might work for you since we're both on the smaller side. One, the Snoogle is worth every penny. Two, I still put a pillow between my legs. Now that my belly is bigger, I also need a wedge pillow (Jeff got one at Babies R Us.) My side of the bed has turned into a jungle gym. The acupuncturist and chiropractor also help with the back pain. I have to see each one at least once a week. The chiropractor gave me two helpful stretches that really help, too.

I hope your nausea goes away! Those preggie drops (got 'em on Amazon) were the only things that helped me, and they taste pretty delicious, too :) (Ginger actually made me feel like hurling, so it didn't help me like it helps most people.)
