I've heard and read that a lot of women will just size up instead of buying maternity tops while pregnant. While this seemed like a good idea to me before I was pregnant, I know now that it's definitely not for me. Since most of my regular tops are loose fitting, almost all of them do still fit me at this point in my pregnancy. Problem is- 1. they aren't long enough to cover the band of my maternity pants (which are a necessity), 2. I just look fat. When I wear loose fitting, non-maternity tops, I don't look pregnant at all. I just look chunky! When I wear tight fitting or maternity tops, I look obviously pregnant. Not only that, but it makes me feel a whole lot more confident in my clothes. So while some women can get away with wearing regular tops, I will gladly wear maternity tops! I specifically love these with the cute little ruching on the side (which by the way, my mom bought online from Wamart for just a few dollars each).

  3. Totally agree! Pregnancy has not endowed me with any bigger of a bust, so when I size up, I end up with all this extra fabric up top...and I just look fat. It's definitely worth buying a few well-fitting maternity tops for the sake of confidence!

  4. I never thought about looser tops making someone look fat instead of pregnant but it totally makes sense! I try to stay away from tight tops unless I'm wearing hi-rise jeans to hide any muffin top but I'm pretty sure I'd wear the tighter tops during pregnancy. Your bump just looks so cute in them! Great score on that skirt! I love the stripes at the bottom!

  5. This makes sense! I'm glad you are finding ways to comfortably dress your new body. That would be tricky, for sure. This outfit is great! Way to go Mom, I'm sure you can get a ton of wear out of this top!
