This outfit here has funny little story behind it...
I wore this outfit when we went to New Orleans for me to try on wedding gowns. This was actually after I had already ordered my Chinese dress. So... I had crowd of like 10 people with me. Just so they all could get to experience the trying on gowns with me. Well I tried on some dresses, but none of them compared to the one I had already ordered. Then we showed the woman that was helping me that dress (not telling her I had ordered it already), and she found it in the store! So I had the whole "I said yes to the dress" moment with everyone and the woman says that she's going to go get the seamstress to get fitted. Ya'll I couldn't take it. I couldn't lie. My family wanted me to tell her that we were going to leave and get lunch and come back. I just couldn't do it! So I told her "Actuallyyy... I ordered this dress already for $300...." You should have seen her face. OMG. "Ugh from China?! Good luck with that." Yeahhhhh she was NOT happy with me. And my family was embarassed... oppsie! But I didn't lie!
When I saw this outfit on Clare's blog, I immediately loved it! I knew I had all of these pieces , but I never would've thought to put them together. I thought this outfit was an unexpected look, and you definitely wouldn't see anyone else on the street wearing something even similar to it.
Super cute Danielle! I love that peplum top :)
ReplyDeleteYour wedding dress story sounds like something that would happen to me.. But good for you for not lying ;)

Hahahaha when I got married last year, I was so afraid to order a dress from China, but I've heard SO many good things about them! Thankfully, the dress I ended up finding was actually a prom dress that was accidentally ordered in white at a boutique near me, and it fit like it was made for me. Glad you got your dream dress at a discount! :)
ReplyDeleteSuch a great story about the dress! Honesty... not always easy!

Oh my I would not have been able to lie either! I am also engaged and there is no way I can afford my dream dress... but I saw on ebay a group from China that has a knock off of my dream dress for $300 and have been debating it. Please let us know how it works out for you!!
