blazer week

Hey ladies! I know this is kind of last minute, but next week I am co-hosting blazer week with Andi from Just Another Smith. We'll be showing you a blazer outfit each day and we hope that you'll come by and link up your blazer outfits too! Here are some of my past favorite blazer outfits:

all new favorites

olive and coral fall outfit
lace and utility jacket
Blouse: Target (30% off) $16 [heresimilar long sleeve]
Pants: The Limited (50% off + $20 off coupon) $20 [here]
Jacket: Old Navy (on sale) $25 [almost exact]
Scarf: Target (clearance + coupon) $3 [super similar]
Booties: Just Fab $20 [super similar]
Total Outfit Cost: $84

With the exception of this scarf, this outfit is compiled of all new pieces to my closet!

Let's start from the top- Ginny posted an outfit in this absolutely gorgeous lace blouse. I knew right away I had to have it too. I have a lace blouse already, but it's super old and is falling apart (it was from f21 so no surprise), so I was definitely in the market for one. I ordered this one when I ordered these pants and it was another win for Target (no suprise)!

This jacket- I've been eyeing this jacket at Old Navy for a year now! I had gotten some Old Navy super cash and I set a reminder on my phone for the dates that I could use it. I went in to finally buy this jacket, and I get to the register and whatdoyaknow I came in a day too early for my super cash so I couldn't use it. I got lucky though because this jacket was on sale! I don't doubt that it would have cost $35 the next day and I would have paid the same amount for it after the super cash. This way, I got to use my super cash on something else (some clothes for my hubby) and I still got my jacket for a good price! Win-win.

These pants- or should I say legging pants. They're perfect. They have the comfort of leggings, but they're pants. Need I say more? They were 50% off online and then I had got a $20 off coupon in the mail from The Limited so I got them for just $20!

Lastly, these booties. I recently signed up for Just Fab again since I'm in need of some new boots. I originally ordered a pair of black and a pair cognac riding boots. They came in and both looked super cheap so I sent them back. Then I got these booties and a different pair of boots (that I again didn't love) and the booties were a keeper!

I have to thank Inge for the recommendation on these pants! A couple months ago (or weeks, I don't remember) I asked for y'alls recommendation on some black skinny pants for work. Many of you recommended the exact stretch pants from The Limited. They were buy 1 get 1 free one day, so I ordered the Exact Stretch Zip Pocket Ankle Pants and the Exact Stretch Skinny Pants. When they came in, I was very impressed with the structure and material of the pants, but when I put them on, they just didn't fit exactly right and they weren't exactly what I was looking for. I like my pants to have more stretch to them, and these (although they are called exact stretch) had no stretch to them and they weren't very comfortable. This pair was too long and very baggy in the ankles, and then these were too wide at the ankle. I was wanting something a little skinnier. I think pants that are skinnier at the bottom look better with flats. If they're too wide, I feel like it can make you look super stumpy and short. I ended up sending both pairs back.

Luckily, Inge posted about replacing her black ankle pants and the Target ones she bought looked exactly like what I was looking for, plus the price was right! I ordered them and I'm so happy with my purchase! These pants are so perfect, and I'm hoping to eventually get a few other colors in them!

totes free

Dress & Necklace: Le Tote (got my first month free)
Leggings: Old
LC Booties: Kohl's, gifted
Total Outfit Cost: $0

A couple weeks ago I got an email from Le Tote that for 2 days only they were offering your first month FREE. Yes ma'am, I said FREE. I jumped on that right away and ordered my first tote. If you don't know what Le Tote is, it's a rental subscription site for clothes, kinda like Netflix. They send you 3 clothing items and 2 pieces of jewelry in a box (you get a cute free tote bag too!) and you can wear it and then send it back for another tote. You can get an unlimited amount of totes each month. If you decide that you want to keep something they send you, you keep it and then they charge you for it. Easy enough! If you're interested in signing up for it, you can do that here.

Also, these pictures were taken the Monday night after the time change, that's why the're so dark and ugly. I get off at 5 and usually I'm home about 5:25. I def didn't think that it would be pretty much dark by 5:30! I was on my way home from work, and I saw the sun setting and all I kept thinking was nooooooo! As soon as I got home I rushed outside to take these pictures and they came out crappy. After, I tried taking pictures inside and they were even crappier (is that even a word?). So, now I've resorted to taking pictures before work which sucks because I'm always in a rush in the mornings.

1 halloween 2 costumes

So at work, there's a company wide costume contest. Last year, our office entered the group contest dressed up as the Spice Girls and Run DMC. If I remember right, Run DMC got 2nd or 3rd place. This year... we wanted to win. I don't want to take the credit for it, but if I remember right, I may have been the one to suggest we dress up as Toy Story. We had a lot of fun with it. One of our co-workers (the one in the slinky costume) made almost all of the costumes! I wore a button up and jeans that I already had. My co-worker made the yellow pieces, belt, and buttons with felt. I cut out the chaps and then just safety pinned them on, and the hat comes from the Dollar Tree (my co-worker added the yarn). As of now, we're still waiting to find out if we made the top few. After that, it goes to the rest of the company to vote for the winners. I think we have a pretty good chance of placing if not winning this year!

The night of Halloween Larry and I went to a party at one of his co-worker's house. I'm not usually one to want to just buy a Halloween costume in a bag, but Larry told me we would be going to this party a measley 2 weeks prior, which didn't give me time to be able to make/thrift a costume. I had a few cute couple ideas for Larry and I, but he's no fun and he shot them down quick. :( He doesn't like to be "cute" he wants to be "cool" or scary. I ended up ordering this dress for $25 off Amazon, along with the head piece for $4.

The Monday night before Halloween I had a genius idea. I told Larry I had everything except the wig to be Maddie in the Sia video of Chandelier, and I ran and changed real quick into my nude leotard and tights that I had tucked away from high school dancing days. At first Larry was all against it and thought it wasn't cool... but then some how I talked him into it. He thought it was a cool idea. SO I paid for rush shipping and I ordered the wig and planned to return the flapper dress. Then the very next night, Larry says no way to my Maddie costume idea. I was so mad that he just let me order the wig and NOW he says no...really husband? (note: he doesn't normally have to approve of how I dress, but this was a party with HIS co-workers, so if he didn't think I looked good in the outfit, I wasn't going to put myself out there like that) I was super bummed, but my flapper dress came in that night and it was really cute. So at least i had a good backup costume. I was just so excited that I had actually come up with such a original and creative idea for once, and then no one got to see it. I did put on the whole Maddie costume with the wig and had Larry take my picture in it. After looking at the picture, I'm kinda glad I didn't wear it, because it wasn't flattering.

What did you dress up as for Halloween this year?

Yes, I know I totally look like a basic white girl with my Starbucks in hand, BUT that is not a pumpkin spice latte.  Call me crazy but I don't even like their PSLs! I think their bitter and gross. (I do love everything pumpkin though. I made these pumpkin spice cupcakes last week. They are SO easy to make and not to mention delish!) My Starbucks drink of choice is a white chocolate mocha... yummmm.

This is what I wore Friday to go trick or treating. We went with Larry's 2 year old Godchild and our 3 month old baby nephew. Let me tell you about my husband... he's funny. His sister was carrying the baby and Larry would walk up to the house with the baby's candy bucket with her to get candy for himself! I swear he's a mess. Our poor future children.. their daddy will most definitely be stealing all of their candy!

I'm not exactly sure why, but this is probably one of my favorite outfits ever. Maybe it's because  I've got on my new favorite boots, my favorite color combo- mustard and navy, and one of my best goodwill finds- this AE tee!

Larry as a jester (he had a scary mask but couldn't wear it in front of the kids) and Charlie poo as a ballerina :)

Y'all, it's November.... NOVEMBER! That's just crazy. Time seriously is going by faster as I get older. While sometimes I love it, sometimes I hate it! When people ask me my age, all I can think is... 23, when did that happen? How am I almost considered in my mid-twenties? I don't love it. I want to be 22 forever. Anyways. November.. It's finally feeling like fall out, and I don't feel crazy in my scarves. (Though I will admit, I wore this outfit last week and I was totally over dressed because when I went to lunch it was like 82 degrees and I was burning up.) This coming weekend we'll be going hunting, and in a few weeks I will be having Thanksgiving dinner with my family for the first time in 4 years! And not to mention what comes after November.. December! Christmas! I. Can't. Wait.
