red coat

Jacket: Forever 21, old
Shirt: Old Navy, c/o Chippmunk
Pants: Old Navy $24
Booties: Shoe Station  (clearance) $15
Scarf: Cotton On $5
Total Outfit Cost: $44

First of all, I'd like to let you know that I don't own anything red other than this jacket. I've always felt weird in red (other than red lipstick). For some odd reason I came home with this red coat 2 years ago. It's maybe been worn 5 times. But something happened the day when I wore this outfit the other day. I felt totally confident in red! I really don't know why! Maybe I'll buy more red!

Know what else I'm wearing that I used to not wear either? Black and brown. How do you feel about wearing black and brown together? And NO I'm not talking about camel and black. To me, camel is more of a tan (but yes, camel does look amazing with black). I don't think I'd straight up wear chocolate brown shoes with black pants, but I really like this lighter shade of brown with black! Do you think it works?

When I saw this dress on Old Navy's website, it screamed Danielle! Lucky me, not only the dress screamed at me, so did the price! It was totally meant to be. I just love the pop of turquoise on the navy!

Oh and guess what! I finally got my CD of my wedding pictures!! I can't wait to show y'all!

diversity

Shirt: Old Navy c/o Chippmunk
Jeans: Old Navy $11.25
Booties: Just Fab $20 (1/2 your 1st pair)
Necklace: Garage Sale $1
Total Outfit Cost: $32.25

This is what I wore last Friday to our meeting at work. It was also our compant diversity day, so we all had to bring in something to share about you or your family that makes you diverse. I really didn't know what to say about me or my family so I brought in a family recipe. It's real American cheesecake. And it's not the kind of cheesecake that you're probably thinking of.. it's 3 layers of yellow cake and then the icing is made with slices of American cheese! Sounds gross, I know, but I promise it's really not! The icing is like a coconut texture. I've thought about sharing it on the blog just so it could get into the whole Pinterest circuit of recipes. I really enjoyed getting to hear all of my co-worker's stories, and the meeting itself was really fun. I'm really so lucky to work for such an awesome company.

So let me tell you how I scored these jeans for only $11.25... I got an email from Old Navy a couple Saturdays ago with a coupon for 50% off one item no exceptions. I had already tried these jeans on a few weeks before, so they were on my wish list for myself, so I once I saw that coupon, this girl was jetting to the store to get my jeans. Along with my coupon I had $10 super cash off of a purchase of $25 or more. With the 50% off the jeans were going to cost $17.25, so I found a shirt that cost $8, so that made $25.25(plus tax of course)...minus my $10 super cash and bam! $15.25 for jeans AND a shirt! That's my kinda deal!

the perfect rainy day outfit

rainy day

Old Navy Jacket: Goodwill $3.49 [lady charged me for a top instead of a jacket SCORE!] | Shirt: Old Navy, gift carded | Shorts: TJ Maxx $16 | Fedora: Charming Charlie, gift carded | Flip Slops: Sears $10 (sale)
Total Outfit Cost: $29.49

I didn't even know it was going to rain yesterday, but this outfit happened to be the perfect rainy day outfit. The fedora kept my hair (& my fake hair ;) dry and the little jacket kept my shoulders dry and warm! I'm a cold natured person so I think this little jacket will get me good use in the summer. It's so hot here in Louisiana so I naturally wear sleeveless shirts, but as soon as I walk inside somewhere I'm FREEZING. Speaking of freezing, you could hang meat in the office at my new job. I even brought a blanket and I still freeze. Hopefully my little cold self will get used to it! But for now, I shiver all day with a runny nose.. joy.

Well it happened. The neighbor saw me taking pictures of myself. I felt like a total doofas! Larry had just walked outside while I was taking my pictures and said "ya need any help?" I just smile and say nope I got it!   Two seconds later I'm walking to my tripod to look at the picture I just took and I see the neighbor who lives in the subdivision behind us walking in his backyard with a big goofy smile on his face. Yupp. This just got weird. I can't wait till we can afford a fence so this girl can take pictures of herself in the privacy of her own backyard! ...That didn't sound conceited or anything. #bloggerproblems

Have you ever been caught taking pictures of yourself?

Your new Flo

Wedges: Target $20
Bracelet: Thrift Store $2
Total Outfit Cost: $46

Sooo after all those interviews, guess who got a job... this girl!! Meet your new Flo.
Okayyyy. Just kidding! But everyone keeps saying I should replace her! That's your hint to my first ever big girl job (aka career!) that I'll be starting in June! I am SO excited! It's the job I wanted from the second I read the job description online.

On to my outfit... See those wedges? That's what you get when you stop in Target once a week. I spotted these wedges when they first came out, but for 40 buckaroos I wasn't about to get them just yet.  A few weeks later they went to $35.. still nahh. A couple more weeks past... $20! I'll take em'!!

wrinkly

Jacket: Old Navy Gifted
Top: Old Navy Gift Carded
Skirt: Old Navy Gift Carded (on sale for $12!)
Sandals: Ross $16
Total Outfit Cost: $16

My mom says that wrinkly isn't a word. She says that I shouldn't say my shirt is wrinkly, instead wrinkled. Nahh. Wrinkly. My shirt is wrinkly in this picture.

So I don't know if you've noticed, but I'm pretty smart when it comes to spending gift cards. I always buy stuff that I know I can't/won't be able to find at a thrift store. I have gift carded my yellow pants, my purple pants, a perfect little black dress, and my trusty fedora. For Easter, the Easter Bunny brought me a dark chambray shirt from Old Navy. It was too big, so I decided to return it. I also was wanting a lighter chambray anyways. Old Navy didn't have the color chambray I wanted, but it did have this striped skirt (on sale whoop whoop) and this top (also on sale!).

I've been wanting this skirt since I saw Lynette in this outfit. I was excited to get it with my merchandise credit and on sale. Then after I saw this shirt and put it on with the skirt, I almost had her outfit! Go check her out by the way. She's flippin gorgeous and her style is so pretty and polished.

trusty fedora

Fedora: Charming Charlie, Gift Carded
Denim Jacket: Old Navy, Gifted
Tank: Charlotte Russ $3.99
Skirt: TJ Maxx $10
Necklace: Garage Sale $2
Total Outfit Cost: $15.99

I am pretty much obsessed with my fedora (my jean jacket also, but you already knew that).  My fedora makes any bad hair day good and also covers up my unwashed hair. Running late? No need to even brush your hair, just throw on that fedora and go. Trust me, you all need a fedora!

And what do yall think of this necklace? I kinda love it! I picked it up a couple weeks ago at a garage sale. Actually the lady that had the garage sale buys storage units, so she's always selling all kinds of things. I'm hoping to find some more fun stuff from her! My mom got an unopened box of polo cologne for only $25 from her today, and I got my little bro Usher cologne for $10.. birthday present done!

sixteen.

(wish I would've cuffed my sleeves!!)
Target Dress: Goodwill $4.99
Jean Jacket: Old Navy, Gifted
Sandals: Rack Room Shoes, Gifted from the Easter Bunny!
Total Outfit Cost: $4.99

This is what I wore on Easter Sunday. I started off celebrating the resurrection of our savoir by going to church with Larry, his dad, my mom and stepdad.... my sister, Alyssa, went to a different church that morning with her boyfriend. Well, we see a lady my mom knows after church and she says, "Oh this must be the baby!" Referring to me thinking I'm my sister... Do I really look THAT young?! I mean I had just said that morning when sista and I were getting ready that I looked sixteen and she looked 21 (she is actually 16 and me 21). I guess when we're old it'll be to my advantage! Oh and I had on some tall wedges at church! It's not like I was even in these sandals haha. FYI I was too lazy to change back into the wedges for these photos.

Shirt: Old Navy $3.99
Jeans: Old Navy, Gift Carded
Flats: Forever 21 $18
Scarf: Target $4.00
Purse: Target $26
Total Outfit Cost: $51.96

Ohhh these yeahlow pants.. I just don't know how to style them other than like this and this.  I love the fit of the jeans themself, so I've actually been thinking about bleaching them, and dying them coral. Nicole from Writes like a Girl and I are doing a clothing swap soon with items we have trouble styling. I'm really hoping she'll help me out with these pants!

school sucks

Jean Jacket: Old Navy, gifted
Top: Forever 21 $7
Skirt: TJ Maxx $10
Scarf: eBay $15
Charlotte Russe Flats: Goodwill $3.49
Total Outfit Cost: $35.49

Don't let that cheesey smile up there fool you, I am not a happy camper today! This picture was taken last week, and if I would've taken a picture of my outfit today, I would not be smiling. School sucks, for realz. I've spent my entire day working on a project that I have still not finished. What's dumb is that the presentation for this project is Thursday, but he wants us to email him the project 24 hours prior to the presentation. So really, this stupid project is due Wednesday at 12:30. And tomorrow I have school all day and work in the evening. I'm sure I'll end up staying up super late tomorrow night to finish it. Ugh.
Rant over.

So how was your Monday? Hopefully better than mine!
Okay, so the fiance did take me out for some yummy Tai food, so I guess today wasn't SO bad

Sweater: Old Navy $20

Flats: Goodwill $3.49
Necklace: Vintage, given to me
Total Outfit Cost: $26.98

I just wanted to update y'all on my wedding gown... it's beautiful! I said yes... again! I'm so excited that I could save my family $700 on my dress.  We are penny pinching everywhere we can on the wedding, and I know that it is still going to be beautiful and everything that I have ever dreamed of. I'll be showing y'all some random stuff I, my mom, and my stepmom have picked up at different thrift stores pretty soon. :)
