the most awesome sweater

owl sweater
le tote owl sweater
Sweater: Le Tote $25/month (someone signed up so I got $25 credit- yay!) [here]
Legging/pants things: Walmart $12
Boots: JCP $45 (on sale + 15% off coupon) [here]
Total Outfit Cost: $82

Y'all. This sweater. I'm smitten. I mean it's got an owl on it... WITH glasses! I love owls and I wear glasses (duh)! It's another one of those Le Tote pieces that I wanted to keep, but just couldn't justify the price. Oh well! It was fun for a day, but not really a piece I'd be able to "remix" that much.

The past week has been a busy one! New years eve we had a small party at our house. It was fun, but I pretty much just wanted to clean up the whole time because I couldn't stand seeing my house messy. OCD much? Maybe so. Haha. New years day I woke up pretty early and went to the big Dillard's sale. All clearance items were an additional 50% off! The shoes and handbag areas were pure craziness. I myself went for some cheap bras. I ended up with 4 bras ($5 and $7 each), 2 pairs of earrings ($4.50 each), and some leggings for 5 bucks.  After that I picked up some Chinese take out for Larry and I. So traditional, I know haha. I called my mom and had to laugh to her because my family always eats black eyed peas and cabbage on new years, but I hate both. Maybe Chinese take out will be Larry and I's new year tradition. :)

I was in my BFF MAPS (the accronym for BFF in Spanish) wedding on Saturday, so Friday I we had a bridal luncheon at a plantation home, then we went to get our nails done. Then Friday evening was the rehearsal dinner.

friday 1-2

Saturday was spent getting ready (hurr done, nails done, errrthang diddd- sorry, I had to!), and then THE WEDDING! Ahh it was SO gorgeous! I told her that I'll have to post the pictures to my blog so that I can pin them on to Pinterest because the whole wedding was so pin-worthy!

sat 1-3
Sunday morning I had my sister her cut my hair. The ends were so long and stringy and gross. As long as I've been growing out my hair, I had to say goodbye to about 4 inches (btw my sister is in beauty schoo, I wouldn't let her cut it otherwise). Then, I had lunch with one of my friends that I haven't seen in forever. Sunday evening, I did Christmas with my dad's side of the family. Monday I had a doctor's appointment, then I finally headed home. BUSY I tell you. I'm kinda glad that the craziness is over, but then again I'm not. Part of me loves being that busy!

maroon + teal

When I find a color combination that I like, I tend to start repeating it. It's like a whole new light to my closet. I paired deep red and teal together here, and honestly I only put those colors together because 1. I really wanted to wear those heels and 2. because I wanted to tie my scarf like that. I put both the scarf and heels on together that morning to see which one won my heart, but I ended up not minding them together! At first I was a little skeptical and thought to myself, "does this match??" Then as the day went by I realized I really liked the colors together, hence why I paired them together again here.

one outfit styled three ways

one outfit three ways, maroon pants, black booties, aztec sweater, fur vest

I bought this top and the bottoms at Walmart during the same grocery trip, but never did I think I would keep these two together this much! This has got to be the most comfortable put together outfit there is. These legging pants things (I honestly don't have a clue what to call them- they're too stretchy to be called pants, but too think to be called leggings) don't have front pockets or a button and zipper, so I think they look weird with anything but a longer top. This top is one of the two I have that's long and loose, so I just keep wearing them together. And I have to say, together they seem to make a perfect canvas for lots of styling options and outfits!

The first way I styled this outfit was simple. All I did was add this pretty necklace, and I think it's my favorite.

The next time I wore it, I added my faux fur vest and a long necklace.

Lastly, I went for comfort, and added my awesomely cozy aztec sweater. I swear this sweater is like wearing a blanket everywhere I go.
Which outfit is your favorite? Do you have an outfit that works as a canvas for many ways to remix.

Oh hey, ya'll. Is it really already Friday? Man this week FLEW by. That's exactly how I like it too. Wednesday my momma came into town to see me (AND Larry ;), but really she came to help me decorate for Christmas. I posted some pictures on instagram, but I may dedicate a whole post to my thrifty Christmas decor. Mom just left today, but my sista and her boyfriend are coming for the weekend! I also have my work Christmas party this weekend, so it will defintely be a good, eventful weekend. I'm excited. THOUGH I'm at work right now, and the week may have flown by, but this Friday HAS NOT. C'monnnn 5 o'clock!
