I hope you all had a great Christmas! I sure did! Christmas morning I was the first one up (always), so I had my coffee and waited on everyone else to get up. My sister, her boyfriend, and my husband took forever to wake up! I unsuccessfully tried to wake them multiple times haha. When they finally got up, we first opened presents. I thought I was going to be smart and let the dogs into their stockings first so that they'd chew on their bones and leave us alone. Well, Charlie grabbed her entire stocking when we gave it to her and brought it to our bedroom! It was hilarious. I guess she didn't want to share with my parents' dogs. My parents' dogs had no interest in the bones we got them. After presents, we ate my mom's traditional breakfast casserole! Mmmm. It gets better every year. Then, we had to take pictures in our matching PJs (another tradition of ours). Then, Larry and I went to his Granny's to spend some time with his family. We ate lunch with everyone, and then we played white elephant. I ended up with my own gift so I was happy. ;) Later on, we headed back to our house and we put Larry's present from me to use! I got him an electric smoker, so we smoked a turkey. I'm usually not big on baked turkey, but smoked? It was GOOD. Mom also made my mawmaw's cornbread dressing recipe and I made my aunt's green bean casserole recipe. So we ate good for supper! My sister and her boyfriend left the next day, but my parents stayed with me until Sunday night (Larry went hunting this weekend). So the Wallace household is empty now after a week full of guests! So bittersweet!

Is Christmas really here?? ALREADY?? As excited as I am, I'm not ready for Christmas to be over! I love all of the time spent with family, good food, good laughs, and beautiful decor! Christmas may be over after this week, but I promise you that my house is staying decorated like this throughout January!

Tonight we are having Christmas with my dad's family, tomorrow with my in-laws, and then Christmas morning with my mom's family. My heart will be so full in the next few days! As we open presents with our families, we need to remember that we have already been given the greatest gift of all- our savoir, Jesus Christ! We can't forget that HE is the REASON for SEASON! Merry Christmas All!!

It's that time of the year... ugly Christmas sweater time!  Is it just me, or is it kinda annoying that the whole ugly Christmas sweater thing is super in right now, so when I (whom frequents the Goodwill) go thrifting specifically for an ugly Christmas sweater, I can't find one! Grrrr.  I actually found this one last summer at a garage sale.  I had no ugly sweater parties planned at the time, but I thought it would be a good idea to go ahead and buy it anyways.  Last year for our work Christmas party we decided to make it an ugly Christmas sweater party, but instead of wearing my garage sale find, I decided to be a little crafty, and I made my own. This year, I wasn't feeling so crafty.  So a year and a half later I got to finally wear my ugly sweater!  I think that I'm going to start collecting ugly Christmas sweaters in the summer so that I can actually find them! (and don't you take my idea! ;) haha

(Can't I just leave my house decorated like this all year long?)

Merry Christmas Eve! Today I am spending my Christmas eve at work, unfortunately. BUT I am very very fortunate and thankful to have a great job. This evening we're exchanging gifts and having supper with my husband's parents and sister. Then... Santa passes!! I will forever be like a little kid on Christmas morning! I'm cooking a breakfast casserole and my parents and sister are coming early in the morning! I can't wait! What are your plans for Christmas?

Holiday Party Outfit #1

Christmas is so soon!  It's exactly 2 weeks away!  So, this week I wanted to show you some holiday party outfits that I put together many from thrift stores, because I think you should SAVE your money on gifts and not worry about spending a fortune to look good for all those family members and friends you haven't seen in a while!

This outfit is SO simple! Just put on your favorite LBD (little black dress), throw on some tights and a cardigan, and belt it! I'm pretty sure everyone has these items in their closet, but if not, just head on over to your local thrift store where I bet you could find em'!
Dress: Plato's Closet $6.99
Cardigan: Goodwill $3.49
Belt: TJ Maxx Clearance $0.70 (yepp, you read that right!)
Tights: Old
Booties: Rack Room Shoes BOGO $35.00
Total Outfit Cost: $46.18

I'll have two more looks for ya this week, so be sure to stick around! :)

DIY Christmas Banner

I have been loving these cute triangle banners I have been seeing all over Pinterest lately! So, I decided I would make a Christmas one. I love the way it came out, so I will definitely making more for other holidays and possibly for my wedding too!

 Supplies:
You will also need a sharpie, scissors and a hole puncher.

Step 1: Cut your scrapbook paper into triangles.

Step 2: Cut the burlap into triangles also. (FYI burlap is really hard to cut, so I just made it purposely messy)

Step 3: Place the scrapbook paper triangle on top of the burlap triangles and punch holes in the two top corners.

Step 4: Run the juke string through the holes and connect all of your triangles.
Step 5: Cut out small circles that will fit in the triangles.
Step 6: Spell out whatever you like on the circles and tape them on your triangles!
