pink & gold

light pink tunic summer outfit

pink blush maternity tunic

Blouse: PinkBlush Maternity (flash sale) $15
Gap Jeans: ThredUp $16
Sandals: Marshalls, gift carded
Necklace: Groopdealz $9
Total Outfit Cost: $40

I wasn't so sure of this outfit when I first put it on. This top is obviously a tunic, and I'm not quite sure if it's meant to be worn with actual pants rather than leggings, but I really wanted to give it a try! This pretty pink just looks so good with white bottoms and gold accessories!

This is probably my favorite outfit I've worn that shows off my bump! Unfortunately I may not be able to wear it again or anything like it without a new chambray button up. I was busting out of this one the whole day. It wouldn't be so bad if the buttons were regular buttons, but they're snaps. I would breathe too hard at work and would have to hurry and snap it back!

I could've also titled this outfit "how to accentuate a small bump." Apparently horizontal stripes is #1 for making a small bump look not so small. #2 is knotting your shirt right above the bump. #3 bust out your shirt all day.. ok kidding. Be smarter than me and wear a shirt that actually fits. :)

Along with quite a few other bloggers, I am LOVING these Old Navy swing dresses. I also have the orange one. They're so soft that they seriously feel like pajamas. If you haven't tried one on yet, you should. You won't regret it. What I regret is not sizing up so that I can wear them towards the end of my pregnancy. But I did see today that Old Navy came out with a long sleeve version, so maybe I'll size up and get one once they go on sale!

Ok y'all. My goal this week is to catch up on some blogging. I'm holding myself to it. I have to! It wasn't such a big deal when I'd get behind on blogging before, but now that I have a growing bump, it can be confusing for me to post all out of order! What I'm going to do on each outfit post is try to include my weekly bump status at the end of each post. Hopefully that will help!

I wore this to eat for Larry's birthday dinner at Texas de Brazil.  Then we met my bestie and her husband at the movies to see Inside Out. Yes, we somehow drug our husbands to see a children's Disney movie with us and neither of them complained! Anyways, I had eaten so much at dinner that I totally had to take off this belt during the movie! I would have just loosened it, but it was already on the last hole. I guess this is what happens when you add a food baby to a baby baby!

summer style

I never get to wear cute summer outfits like this! For the month of July, I worked Tuesday to Saturday, so that put me wearing work clothes on those days, a church outfit on Sunday (and then either change into comfy clothes or go swimming at my in-laws'), and then on Mondays I'd clean the house, be lazy, and/or go grocery shopping... all which require nike shorts and a t-shirt. But this certain Monday was different! Larry had a doctor's appointment out of town, so I decided to join him, and he decided to take me to the zoo! Yes, we are children expecting a child. Hah. It was nice little outing for us and definitely a change from my normal Mondays!

This outfit has been sitting in my drafts for a couple weeks now- oops! I wore this at 10 weeks pregnant, and I remember feeling so me and so confident in this outfit. Though I didn't have a bump at all yet, I was bloated and my pants were getting tight. This outfit was a comfy alternative to my too tight pants and made me feel good again.

Some days I wish my office was a little more dressy... like pencil skirt and pumps dressy. Please note, these "some days" were before pregnancy! Anyways, I can totally wear a pencil skirt and pumps to work, but my office is pretty casual. I've said it before, but we're on the casual side of business casual. This outfit? Completely work appropriate! And this has got to be the comfiest work outfit ever. Feels just like pjs to me!
Ps. These pictures are from over a month ago. If you saw yesterday's post, you know that my stomach is no longer that flat!!

A couple weeks ago we had a chilly spring day. I thought it would be the last one, but nope! This past Saturday was kinda cool! This outfit was actually worn a couple weeks ago though. I'm ready for the weather to make up it's mind and just stay hot. I need my in-laws' pool to be warm enough to go swim! Know what I have been loving about the weather? The longer days. I love that the sun is out so much later. What I love to do is open all my blinds and curtains when I get home to let the natural light in. It just makes my heart smile!

Happy Monday friends! I hope you all had a lovely Easter weekend. I sure did! Saturday was spent shopping all day with my mother in law. We went out of town to shop because the shopping here isn't that great. We went to Burlington, Dirt Cheap, Forever 21, and TJ Maxx, and man did we find some deals! We were mainly home shopping, but I managed to squeeze in Forever 21 since for 1, we don't have one here, and 2, I needed to exchange this cardigan for the right size. I couldn't go there without looking around, so I ended up getting this paisley maxi dress , a black and white printed top, and a couple of my favorite camis. I really wanted some new necklaces, but there was only one rack of jewelry, and it was slim pickins. My favorite find of the day was a galvanized metal lantern from Dirt Cheap for only $7!

Easter Sunday was pretty low key. We went to church in the morning, and then for lunch we gathered with Larry's family at his Granny's. It's always great to get everyone together to celebrate what our savoir did for us. I have to say that I did miss my family though! I'm going see them all next weekend, so luckily I don't have to miss them for much longer. It's been about a month since I've seen them.

So how was your Easter weekend?

It's Monday! Oh joy! Right?! Well for me it is actually. I'm on the Tuesday to Saturday shift this month which sucks until Monday rolls around and you realize that you don't have to get up for work and you can sleep in as late as you want to.

So while I prop my feet up on the coffee table and you all are at work, I thought I'd at least provide you with a little humor for your Monday. Ok, so go to Google. Type in pug and any dog breed mix and look at the pictures. Funniest looking dogs in the world! My personal fave is the pug + poodle mix (pugapoo?). Disclaimer: I am so sorry if you have a pug mix of any sort. I am sure he's the cutest dog in the world. Next to my Charlie of course. ;)

But honestly, I'm actually not on the couch today with my feet propped up (I did that yesterday). I have errands to run today! I'll be grocery shopping and bringing Charlie poo to the vet for her yearly shots. I'm praying that she's an angel like she was last year. She didn't even flinch when they gave her the shots! I was such a proud puppy mama!

I've seen a few other bloggers (Fran, Nicole, and Alissa) share 10 things that you might not know about them, and I love learning random tidbits about others, so I figured I'd join in too!

10 things you might not know about me:
1. When I was younger, some kid told me I looked like Mary kate and Ashley Olsen and I thought it was the best thing in the world. I used to bring pictures of them to my hairdresser to copy their hair cuts.

2. I never ever ever miss a meal. I religiously eat breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

3. I'm addicted to and watch WAY too much TV. If I listed all of the shows I watch and record you'd be shocked.

4. My hair is naturally dirty, dishwater blonde. It's ugly. I got my first highlights in the 5th grade and kept getting more and more from then on until I had a head full of pretty blonde locks.

5. I started dancing at the age of 5. I started competing in dance at 6. It's my favorite past time and I miss it more than ever. I fully plan on being a crazy dance mom one day. But my luck I'll either be blessed with all boys or my girl will want to cheer. Lol.

6. My favorite type of food is a close run between Mexican and Greek/Lebanese. Give me everything Mexican or some chicken shawarma and gyros any day and I am one happy girl.

7. I've traveled to 3 countries so far- Spain, Costa Rica, and Jamaica. If I could live in Spain, I would. It was absolutely amazing. I hope to travel there again one day with my hubby.

8. I'm scared to death of spiders. So scared that I can't even kill them or step on them.

9. I was a cat person all my life until we got our toy poodle Dutchess. She was my first puppy love. Then we got our bichon frise, Spencer. Now Larry and I have our own toy poodle, Charlie Poo, and I wonder how people live without dogs.

10. I have 1 sister from my mom and stepdad and 2 brothers and 1 sister from my dad and stepmom. All half but whole in heart. My baby brother and I are 22 1/2 years apart.

Dress: Old Navy  $15 Christmas money [here]
Scarf: ebay $15

Tell me you sang my title. You did, right?

Some of my favorite things:
-stripes, of course
=leopard, duh
-stripes + leopard together
-these boots

So let me tell you a long drawn out story about these boots. I bought a pair of boots from JustFab.com for my mom for Christmas. She loved them and said I picked out the perfect pair. Unfortunately they were a half size too big. So we sent them back. Then after weeks of waiting on the right size to come in, I get an email that they sold out of the right size. Ugh. You could have told me that weeks ago. So then a few more weeks go by of my mom trying to pick out another pair of boots, and she picks out these you see here. She got these in and loved these too, but now this time, these were too small! Wahhh. So yet again I have my mom pick out another pair of boots. This time no luck finding any she liked.

Then a couple weeks ago I was at Target and picked up these boots and a gray pair (that aren't online any more) for my mom for $12 each. Yes EACH! It turned out to be a win-win situation because my mom ended up with two pair of boots, and I got to keep these!

Sorry to be talking about the weather again, but I felt like this post was perfectly appropriate for today. The warm winter outfit is something I could have worn yesterday, and the cold winter outfit is something I could be wearing today. This weather is so dang bipolar. Now that I think of it, no other season here in Louisiana is like that. In the summer, once it's hot, it's HOT. And the spring and fall... they're pretty much just hot too. Ok Danielle, enough about the weather...

Anyways... I've been thinking about doing an "ask me anything" post (like Ginny & Fran did) where y'all ask me questions about anything and I'll answer (pretty self explanatory right? haha). What do y'all think? Would anyone even have any questions for me?

Oh hey, haven't posted an outfit in a while... whoops!

A couple weekends ago we had some beautiful warm weather here. I was able to sport my bare legs for the first time in weeks. I thought maybe just maybe spring would be here soon. Too bad I was wrong! Winter came back again, then left again, then it's supposed to be coming back later on in the week. Grrrrrr. See last year I was ok with the winter hanging around a bit. This year, I just can't wait until spring! I'm ready for open toes, florals, bright colors, and bikinis. For now I guess I'll just be dreaming.

I'm so sad that all I have to show of this outfit is lame mirror pictures! But unfortunately, it was raining the day I wore this, so there was no going outside for outfit pictures. I used to take my outfit pictures inside my apartment a few years ago, but I just haven't figured out the lighting situation for taking them inside my house. Any tips? Problem is, you need the natural light from a window, but if I'm choosing to take my picture inside, it's likely because there is no light outside because it's late or it's raining. Ohhh blogger probz! Anyways, I don't normally wear all black and white, but I loved this outfit! This sweater dress is super comfy and perfect for cold days in the office.

Also, I'm linking up with the PMT Style Challenge: Try a new hairstyle. These pictures were before I let my sister chop some more off my hair, but I did try something new this day! Nothing fancy, I just went with a deeper part and pinned back one side. I actually really like how it came out, and I'll probably wear it like this more often!

My sister was in town this weekend, and I have to say, we had some awesome (much needed) sister time. We started our weekend off Friday night with some chickfila, watching my husband box at the gym, then falling asleep on the couch watching a lifetime movie on Netflix (the pregnancy project). What party animals, I know!

Saturday morning we cooked breakfast together- omelets and toast with muscadine jelly (so yum). And coffee of course. Can't forget the coffee.  After that we took over 2 hours to get ready. No lie. I let her do my makeup and she took for.ev.er. Plus, I'm just impatient. Then we went to Old Navy. We both bought this dress for only $12 (I got indigo, she got black)! I also got a blouse that was on clearance for $2.97 (yepp cheaper than Goodwill). We went to the movies to see Boy Next Door (good movie, but crazy ending). We went to Plato's Closet. Sista always finds good stuff there! I tried on this adorable leather dress, but for 1. where would I wear a leather dress? and 2. it was an ugly green color. I did end up leaving with some adorable teal pumps though! Sunday we went to church and brunch with Larry and his granny, then we just hung out for the rest of the day and watched Gone Girl.

I'm so glad I finally got to spend the weekend with my sister. She really is my best friend and it stinks that we don't get to spend more time together since we live 2 hours apart.

Hunter Wellies: Goodwill $9 [here]
Tank: Old Navy (clearance + super cash) $5
Shorts: TJ Maxx $16
Old Navy: Goodwill $3.50

The other day I stopped in the Goodwill for just a quick run through. When I do my quickie trips I typically look through the houseware/junk, shoes, and dresses. After my pass through the houseware, I noticed one of the workers with a huge buggy of shoes waiting to be put out. And on the top of the buggy? These Hunter rain boots. In. My. Size! AND my favorite color! You better believe I snatched them up real quick and didn't put them down till they were safe in my car. When I was waiting in line to check out these two young (college-age looking) girls saw the boots and said "oh my God, did you find those HERE?" And I was all like "yeahhhh omg, I'm like the thrifting queeen." Ok just kidding. But no really. These boots are something I would absolutely never own if it wasn't for me thrifting them. To be honest, if it wasn't for blogging, I'd have no clue what the heck Hunter Wellies were! I still don't understand why anyone would pay $150 for rainboots, but that's just me! If I didn't know better, I'd think the Goodwill was crazy for up pricing them to $9. ;)

Fall is here! Wohoo it's time for scarves and booties and everything pumpkin, right?? Too bad its still crazy hot here! Oh the perks of living in the south! I can't lie though, I love the heat. But I am very ready for at least a little chill in the air. On the first day of fall I walked outside to take Charlie out and it smelled like fall! Call me crazy, but it really did. Unfortunately that smell didn't last even until the next day. The heat came back and swept away my tiny piece of fall. I'm trying not to let the unfallness weather take away from dressing some-what fall though. I paired a light scarf and booties with one of my favorite dresses for a look that lets me fake fall in this forever heat!

IMG_0013
Old Navy dress: Goodwill $6 [similar]
Sandals: Target, gift carded [same]
Necklace: Forever 21 $9 [similar]
Belt: off another dress
Total Outfit Cost: $15

I remember seeing this dress at Old Navy last summer and loving it, but with a $35 price tag this pretty little thing was not coming home with me! Lucky enough, I found it for a whole 6 bucks at Goodwill a few months ago! Funny how last time I wore an orange dress, I asked y'all what colors to pair with orange. Y'all gave such great feedback, and yet I end up styling this dress almost exactly like I styled the other dress!
Hope you all are enjoying your Labor Day! It's just me, myself, and I in the office today. I was off on July 4th and Memorial Day, so I'm really not complaining about having to work today. Plus, it's still a 4 day week for me and just 4 more days until Disney World!
