Wear to Work Wednesday

Chambray Shirt: Goodwill $3.49
Sweater: Forever 21 $7
Skirt: Forever 21 $5
Pearls: Goodwill $3.99
Heels: Goodwill $3.49
Bracelet: Forever 21 $1.80
Belt: Came on a dress
Total Outfit Cost: $24.77

When I posted my Forever 21 clearance finds here, I asked for some advice on how to style this skirt. Sara suggested pairing it with a chambray shirt and pearls, and she was totally right! I love this look! Thanks Sara! It looks really good without the black sweater but it was kind of chilly so I needed it, and without it, my black heels didn't look right with the outfit... and at the time I thought I didn't have any heels that would go, but then I forgot I had nude heels that surely would go.

Polka Dot Pants Part II

Shirt: Ross
Pants: TJ Maxx $20
Charlotte Russe Flats: $3.49
Scarf: Goodwill $1.99
Necklace: Yard Sale $1
Shirt: Ross $5
Total Outfit Cost: $31.48

These polka dotted pants were a huge hit last time I posted them here, so of course I had to show y'all another way I like to wear them! I love both looks, but ever since I bought these pants, all I've wanted was a mustard colored sweater/cardigan to go with them... I've searched everywhereeeee for one. The only one I found was at banana republic, and y'all know me, there was NO justifying a mustard cardigan for $35.. No way.  Pretty much the only items I justify as $35 worthy are shoes.

Simple Style

Jean Jacket: Old Navy Gifted
American Eagle Shirt: Goodwill $3.49
Jeans: TJ Maxx $10
Boots: $40
Necklace: Target old
Total Outfit Cost: $53.49

So remember how I told ya'll Saturday I was supposed to meet up with my friend from New York in New Orleans for Mardi Gras? Well I officially hate Mardi Gras this year. Larry and I drove to New Orleans, only to NOT be able to get to the hotel because of the parade going on. It was literally impossible to get there because of roads being barricaded off. So we drove around downtown N.O. for over an hour trying to get around to the hotel or at least a close enough park to walk. But nope, that didn't happen. We decided to turn around and go back home. I was SO upset (and still am) that I didn't get to spend Mardi Gras with my friend.
We did get to meet up with them for lunch yesterday though! So after over a year I finally got to see of of the best friends I made in Disney. (the other one lives in California and is flying down to be in my wedding in July! eeeek!) It was so good to catch up with her, and we plan on getting together more while her and her boyfriend are living in Houston for the next 6 months!

And since it was her first time to Louisiana, I made her a "Welcome to Louisiana" basket complete with Community Coffee, Tony's Cacharies, Louisiana Hot Sauce, Cajun Gumbo Mix, Creole Jambalaya Mix, and Zapp's Potato Chips! And of course I brought them a king cake too ;)

oh so prepster

American Eagle Flannel: St. Vincent de Paul $4.00
Shirt: Kohl's old
Jeans: Goodwill $4.99
Boots: $40
Boot Socks: Payless Shoe Source $4
Total Outfit Cost: $52.99

So when I put this outfit together, I felt like J from J's everyday fashion would wear something like this (see here and here).  I really don't have much else to say about this outfit other than, it looks super preppy and I like it... I think.. but I'm just not sure if its "me."

I'm so excited for tonight! Why you may ask? Because I get to see one of friends that I made when I worked in Disney World! She's from NY but moved to Houston last weekend, so her boyfriend and her are meeting Larry and I in New Orleans for some Mardi Gras fun!

Happy Mardi Gras Ya'll!

(if you say gras right, it rhymes ;)

Pinspired Style: Katy Perry

Cardigan: Garage Sale $1
Skirt: Goodwill $3.49
Tights: Old
Belt: Came on a shirt
Heels: Handmedown
Total Outfit Cost: $4.49

My Pinspiration:
Isn't Katy Perry just flawless? I just love her. I love her vintage, and always very feminine style. I totally wish I could pull off some of the stuff she's worn, but this simple skirt and cardigan look will have to do.

So, I took count of how many times my professor said essentially and in terms of today...
In terms of: 5
Essentially: 17!!!
Yall... that is TOO much.

essentially

(forgot my camera at work this weekend, so you get a mirror picture, yay!)
Chambray: Forever 21 $20
Scarf: Ebay $15
Jeans: TJ Maxx $10
Boots: $40
Total Outfit Cost: $85

Essentially, in terms of cost, this is probably one of my most expensive outfits! Essentially, hasn't every blogger and their momma... or momma blogger worn this outfit? Essentially, in terms of care, I don't.  Essentially, in terms of words, my professor of essentially 2 classes, says 'essentially' and 'in terms of' way too freaking much. Essentially, maybe tomorrow in class, in terms of numbers, I'll take count.

because blogging is > exhaustion & undone schoolwork

(the more I look at this, the more awkward this pose gets)
Dress: Cotton On $10.00
Tights: Cotton On $3.50
Tights: Cotton On $2.50
Boots: Borrowed from Sista
Total Outfit Cost: $16.00

About the exhaustion: Well since the Superbowl was in New Orleans, and I work at an Airport 40 minutes from New Orleans, you can imagine the air traffic we had going on. From Friday to Sunday, I worked a total of 34.5 hours. I got off at 2 am this morning and had class at 9:30.

About the undone schoolwork: see above.

So how did I relax today? Not by sitting on the couch. After class I went have lunch with my nanny, and then of course since I was already out, I had to stop at TJ Maxx and Target, and of course the Goodwill (I haven't been in 3 weeks!!). To me, sometimes relaxing doesn't just mean chilling on the couch watching too many episodes of Say Yes to the Dress, it means spending "me" time. So I spent some "me" time by shopping. All I bought was 3 pairs of colored tights at target on clearance for $3.50 each.. go get you some :)

How do you spend "me" time?
