The more I look at these pictures, the more I just don't care for this outfit.  I can't pinpoint what it is about this outfit that I don't like though.  Maybe it's the necklace + belt combo that I don't normally do.  Maybe it's the belt in general.  But without the belt, the dress is too baggy.  Who knows.  Maybe I don't need to pinpoint what's wrong with this outfit, and instead put it on the blog and in the past.  Normally after looking back at an outfit I wore and deciding I don't like, I wouldn't post it on the blog.  This time I am though.  It's what I wore, and it's what I liked that day.  Maybe I'm just being too critical on myself!

  1. I actually really like this outfit! I think you look great! Definitely something I would wear too. I hate that feeling of not being completely happy with it tho. That stinks

  2. I think you you look adorable! This would be fun with your utility vest or denim jacket too.

  3. I think it's a cute look! Sure, maybe not one of your best but you're certainly just being too hard on yourself. And look at that bun - perfection!

  5. I think you're being too critical because it's adorable! you could even go chunkier on the statement necklace I think.

  6. I'm not trying to criticize, only help you pinpoint the problem.. maybe it's that the top is too short to be a dress but too long to be a shirt? Or the boots make it look that way? I definitely get critical about my outfits, probably every other outfit :/

  7. I think it's cute, but I can see what you're saying. That is way too short to be a dress even for a youngster like you! Maybe opaque tights and short booties would have been a better look and without the belt.

  8. I think it's cute! But I totally hear you. I have a plaid button-down shirt that I love hanging in the closet - but I canNOT figure out a way to style it that I actually like *on me*. I'll keep trying, I guess! ;)

  10. I think it can be difficult to style shirtdresses, but you did it perfectly! :) I am really digging the colors of the plaid with your skintone. Plus, the topknot is just adorable. You look pulled together while comfortable.

  11. You're being too hard on yourself! I think it's adorable! What about trying a bigger belt? I wonder what difference that would make. And hey, I'm all about being honest on the blog :)

  12. I really love you in this outfit! We must be on the same wavelength because I bought a stretchy red plaid skirt at Ross yesterday for $4.99! Don't worry about not totally liking yourself in something. As long as you take a chance and try a different style it's worth it and you'll learn more about yourself.

  13. Well I think it's cute, but we all understand our personal style best. If anything, at least you've learned from reflecting on it so you can plan something you'd like better next time! Maybe another layer on top would help too?

  14. I actually really like this! I think maybe tights with a texture or multiple colors of grey would be nice. Sheer would look awesome, but obviously the tunic/dress is a little short for that... haha :) I think it's really cute. XO -Alexandra
