hand me down

LC Lauren Conrad Blazer: Kohl's $24
Blouse: Target: Hand me down from a friend (new with tags)
Mossimo Pants: Target (30% off) $20
Heels: Just Fab $40
Total Outfit Cost: $84
One of my coworkers sent me home with a bag of things that she had that she never ended up wearing. This gorgeous blouse was in it! I love it, and I love the way it turned out with his outfit, but it's a litttttle too tight in the chest area. :( Something that's very new to me haha. I'm debating on if I should keep it or not! Is it worth being tight in the chest?

Long time no blog post, eh? We got back from our wonderful Disney vacation last Tuesday, but I just couldn't get myself to write up a new post! I was partially busy unpacking, cleaning house, washing clothes, etc... but partially I was being just plain lazy. Ain't nothing wrong with that! Being in Disney World makes me miss living there soooo much. It just feels like home to me! Unfortunately there's no chance I'd live there again. It's way too far from all of our family. I can't say that our future children will be Disney deprived though. I feel like we'll probably be that family that vacations there every year. I'm already ready to go back! Too bad it may be another 3 years or so before we do. :( I'll miss ya, Mickey!
On to the outfit- something about this outfit just says "young business casual" to me. I know that a couple of years ago when I thought of business casual I thought of black flare dress pants, black flats, and a boring blouse. I've been wearing business casual to work for 2 years, and I now know that business casual doesn't have to be plain and boring! Take a look at this outfit I wore to my first day of work 2 years ago when I worked at Top Gun Aviation. Not boring, but just not me. In 2 years I've learned how portray my own style even when having to dress business casual! Did you ever have a certain style in your mind when you thought business casual?

I'm so fancy

Cynthia Rowley Blouse: Goodwill $4
Pants: Old Navy $26
Heels: Payless (clearance) $10
Necklace: Ebay $4
Total Outfit Cost: $44
...you already know. Something about a pair of fabulous heels, a cute outfit, and sunglasses can make a girl feel fancy, right? Actually I didn't feel all that fancy in this outfit. I just started singing that song while taking these pictures, so I decided then that it should be the title of this blog post.

By the way, my 23rd birthday is in just a few hours! Presents are always welcome... I wear a shoe size 8 ;)

interviewed
Two Fridays ago I had an interview in Lake Charles (my future home). It was my second big girl job interview (I had a third last Friday). My mom and sista went with me so that I could show them Larry and I's house. They absolutely loved it by the way!! I wore this outfit for my first interview and got a second interview, which I did not take because it was fully commission. I figured since it was lucky enough to get me a second interview the first time, it would be lucky enough this time... and it was! I have a second interview in two weeks!
The interview I went to last week was yet another fully commission. Ugh. Not that I would take a second interview, but they didn't call me back for one yet and I'm thinking it's cause I didn't wear this outfit. I'm weird and sometimes superstitious.
Blazer: Goodwill $4.99
Banana Republic Skirt: Goodwill $3.49
Button Up: Old
Charlotte Russe Flats: Goodwill $3.49
Purse: Target $26
Total Outfit Cost: $37.97
You can't get much more professional than a black blazer and a white button up, but if you're wondering why I didn't go with a black skirt is because I didn't want to come off as too boring. I want to add some color and personality to my outfit. I went with flats because I didn't have any closed toe plain black heels. I don't think open toe is appropriate for an interview (just in case it goes against the company's dress code policy). I have some cap toe black heels but I think I walk funny in them and that's the last thing I want when I walk into an interview... "How about that girl who walked funny?"
We took these pictures when we met Larry for lunch. I saw this awesome colored wall and knew it would be el perfecto for outfit pictures. I especially love how the wall contrasts so good with my purple skirt!
Sista and I always actin' a fool in public.
