I got this dress a  few years ago on super clearance at Urban Outfitters right after Christmas when they had their clearance items with an additional percentage off. I've gotten so much wear out of it, and It's one of those dresses that I don't think will ever go out of style! I've wore it so many different ways. I love how I can dress it up for work like I did here or I've worn it with sandals before, and I've even worn it to a wedding! It's just another one of those wear anywhere dresses!  Do you have any dresses that can be worn just about anywhere?

Well I finally spent my gift card that Chippmunk sent me! I got an email from Old Navy, and the model had on this same shirt and pants, and I knew I HAD to have this outfit! I had it waiting in my shopping cart online when my gift card in! I also got two sweaters with my gift card (this one and this one) that I am SOOO anxious to wear, but I'm just waiting on this dang Louisiana weather to cool down at least a little!

I'm sad that you can't see the pretty print on this skirt in these pictures!  You can see it a little better here. I love the simplicity of this outfit. I know some of you may be thinking, a printed skirt and a tied blouse? That's simple? But for me, I'm not wearing a statement necklace or bracelets, and I just stuck with some nude flats. That's simplicity to me!
I really don't have much to say on the blog this week. My work has been pretty draining this week, and so all I'm looking forward to is the much needed weekend!

my version of fall

This is what I wore on the first day of fall, and guess what, it actually felt like fall over here in the deep south! Yeah.. it didn't last long though, it's already pretty hot again.  But Sunday morning I walked outside to let Charlie out and it felt amazing! It was just a little chilly. So this is my version of a fall outfit: a light dress with a cardigan and booties! I'm lovin' it.

So after a long search for new glasses, I finally found some! Usually when I get new glasses, I just like them, and I just wear them when I'm running late in the morning or when my eyes need a break from my contacts. But these new glasses, I love. I love them so much I want to wear them all the time! And please, by all means, just pretend you don't see all those creases in my skirt! I take my outfit pictures after a long day at work.

Okay, I LOVE these heels... but y'all they are SO uncomfortable! That's why I hardly ever wear them. All day I kept singing "both my feet hurt."  Oh you don't know that song? Welllll you might should go listen to it. And now everytime anything on your body hurts, you will sing both my feet hurtttttt, they hurt really badddd, both my feet huurttt and it makes me sadddd. OR both my ears hurrrrt or one of my eyes hurtttt. Ok, you get the point. Your welcome :)

So if you're new here to Goodwillista, you've probably been wondering as to why more of my clothes don't come from the Goodwill.  Well, when I started this blog, I was on a thrifting high. I went to the Goodwill in my college town once a week and sometimes I'd also make it to the Goodwills near my home town. I was thrifting allll the time and finding so many great things! Now I have this big girl job, so there's less time for trips to the Goodwill... especially since it's too far from my work to go on my break and the Goodwill where I live now closes at 6 -__- By the time I'd get there after work I'd only have half an hour to shop. Not to mention the times I have been to the Goodwill here, it just sucks.
I may not be able to show off as many thrifted finds on this blog, but lately I have been racking up on super clearance finds! Along with pretty much my whole outfit here, I found some awesome cheap goodies at JC Penney and Target! All of the things below come from JC Penney, other than the chambray shirt.

comfort + casual

Pretty much we just can't wear blue jeans (except on Fridays) or flip flops that look like you'd wear to the beach...  yeah our dress code actually says that! Haha. This outfit is comfy and casual, but still work appropriate. This outfit was the perfect Monday outfit.  So staring at a computer screen all. day. long. is finally getting to me. By 3:30 at work, my eyes are killing me, my contacts are blurry, and I've got a headache. I can't wait till my new glasses come in. Maybe my eyes won't feel as bad by the end of the day. Anyone else had this problem before? How long did it take for your eyes to get used to staring at a computer screen for 8 hours a day?

This girl right here is my sister and my best friend. I've missed her SO much now that I live 2 1/2 hours away. Luckily she was able to come spend the weekend with me! She graduates from high school this year and she's checking into a beauty school out here, and that makes me soooo happy! I'm really hoping she chooses to go to it so we get to spend more time together. :)

All these bloggers lately talking about fall approaching and scarves and boots and sweaters and blah blah blah. Here in south Louisiana, do we even know what fall really is? I don't think so. We pretty much have summer weather from April to October.  So, as much as I too would like to be thinking about pulling out my scarves and boots, I know that it'll be a while before that happens!  I wore this outfit when my sister and I went to a flea market. It felt like 135 degrees outside that day so we didn't stay too long, but I did find a few goodies! I didn't get a chance to take a picture of them yet, so you'll have to wait to see what I got. I wish I would've gotten a picture of sista's outfit too because she looked so cute! She changed the second we got home because we were all sweaty and wouldn't even wait so I could take her picture.

Sooo guess what I got last week! (if you follow me on instagram you already know the answer) ... A NEW CAR! Ahhhhhh I have just been ecstatic about it! I've been driving a 2001 Mitsubishi Eclipse (aka Roxanne) since I was 16 and man oh man it feels good to say goodbye to her. Roxanne made me appreciate the small things though. I now can go through a drive through (Roxanne's window hasn't gone done since March -__-), I can load groceries in my car (Roxanne's trunk was a hatchback that wouldn't stay up.. hasn't in like 4 years), and my new car is quiet and super smooth (Roxanne was super loud and vibrated)! I love my new Mazda, but she needs a name! Got any ideas for me? Do you name your cars too?

Last time I wore this shirt on the blog, I toned down the brightness of this shirt with my black pin striped blazer. This time I decided to accentuate the brightness with this bright turquoise necklace and my leopard flats! I wore the top outfit to a day at work. That evening Larry and I had dinner with a friend of his, and I didn't have much time to change. So, I remembered Lindsey wore this outfit that I already knew I wanted to recreate, and I added my jean jacket for a more casual look.

I got the idea to put this together after seeing this pin a while back. Back when my mom bought me this dress for my engagement pictures, I never would have thought there would be so many different ways to style a simple lace dress. I have more ways up my sleeve too. Oh and I also have to thank Pinterest for my hair! More ways I've worn this dress here & here.

On my lunch break one day, I went to the mall to spend my Apricot Lane gift card from my co-workers. I got distracted by the sale at American Eagle and that's when I bought [this top].  By the time I got to Apricot Lane I didn't have much left of my lunch break, so I just glanced real quick... Then I found this dress on the 70% off rack. I snatched it up and brought it to the register cause I knew it had to be mine. For one, it's one of my favorite colors. Two, it's aztec print which I've been loving. And three, it's another versatile dress that can be worn to work or to church or just casually!  Since I didn't have time to try it on I asked the girl what the return policy was just incase it didn't fit. She said clearance items were final sale... poop. I didn't want to chance it because this flap in the front seemed like it may be too short. While on my way back to my car I did the math on my phone on how much the 70% off was and I figured out the dress would've been 10 bucks.. 10 bucks!! I was so mad at myself! I was like dang I could've made that work for 10 bucks! And there were only 2 of the dress left! Luckily I went back after work and there it still was! I tried it on and just like I thought, the flap in the front was wayyyy too short! I got it anyways and then grabbed a $7 slip at the Wally World!
It's labor day! Found any good sales?
